  • 1 ripe banana approximately 120-130 grams; frozen for a creamier texture, if desired
  • 1/2 ripe avocado about 75 grams
  • 30 grams almonds raw or roasted, plus extra for topping if desired
  • 240 ml milk almond milk, soy milk, or regular milk
  • 15 grams honey or maple syrup optional, for sweetness
  • 2.5 ml vanilla extract optional
  • Ice cubes optional, for a colder smoothie

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: If using a frozen banana, remove it from the freezer and let it sit for a few minutes to soften slightly. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh.

  2. Blend: In a blender, combine the banana, avocado, almonds, and milk. If you like your smoothie sweeter, add honey or maple syrup. For extra flavour, add vanilla extract.

  3. Blend Until Smooth: Blend on high until all the ingredients are well combined and smooth. If you prefer a colder smoothie, add a few ice cubes and blend again until frosty.

  4. Adjust Consistency: If the smoothie is too thick, add more milk until you reach your desired consistency. If it’s too thin, add a bit more banana or avocado.

  5. Serve: Pour the smoothie into glasses. If desired, sprinkle some chopped almonds on top for added texture.
